Specific Objectives, Student Experiences: Students will use visual art vocabulary to discuss art presented in class and their own art. Students will actively participate in both group and individual art projects. Students will demonstrate understanding of visual elements and principles of design in their own art production. Books, Materials: Students must bring their planner as well as a pencil and an eraser every class period. Material for art projects will be provided though we may ask for donations as needed. Students will be expected to work everyday regardless of the mess, if this is a problem I recommend that they bring a smock. We have no specific texts for this course but will use a variety of art texts, magazines and videos. Expectations, Homework Frequency, Grading Policy: All classroom behavior will be based on the principle of respect for oneself, classmates and supplies. Students are expected to keep track of all work and their contributions to the class and to make up any work missed because of absence. Students who have not completed assignments by the due dates will be given 1 week to complete them on their own. After that work will not be accepted. Due dates will be announced in class. Extensions will be granted if appropriate. Grades will be based as follows. 50% on class participation & effort, 50% on completion and quality of work.
